Automotive Technician Responsibilities
As an Automotive Technician at Kia of Lincoln, you’ll play a critical role in keeping our customers’ vehicles running safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing and repairing automotive issues accurately and efficiently
- Performing routine maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and alignments
- Using diagnostic scanners, repair software, and tools safely and effectively
- Maintaining detailed repair and service records
- Working closely with service advisors to ensure clear communication with customers
- Staying current on the latest automotive technology and repair procedures

What We’re Looking For
We’re searching for hardworking technicians who take pride in quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Preferred qualifications include:
✔ Previous Automotive Technician experience
✔ Strong understanding of automotive systems and diagnostics
✔ Experience using diagnostic equipment and repair software
✔ Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
✔ ASE Certification preferred (we’ll help you earn certification if needed!)
✔ Valid driver’s license with a good driving record

Hello. I am writing to apply for an Auto Technician Associate. As a dependable team player with strong hands-on experience in high-responsibility, customer-facing roles, I am excited to bring my skills in reliability, problem-solving, and positive service to your team. This fall, I am beginning the Auto Technology program at Southeast Community College in Milford. To support my education, I am seeking a part-time schedule of approximately 20 hours per week. I am fully available for all-day shifts on Fridays, along with flexibility for shorter evening shifts (after 4:00 PM) on weekdays, as well as select Saturday and Sunday shifts.
My background reflects a proven history of hard work, time management, and adaptability:
• Customer Service & Communication: As a lifeguard at Madonna Wellness Club and Lincoln Parks & Recreation, I actively monitored facilities, enforced safety rules clearly and calmly, and resolved customer inquiries. These roles strengthened my ability to handle fast-paced environments, communicate effectively with diverse groups, and ensure a welcoming experience.
• Work Ethic & Technical Aptitude: As a Grounds Maintenance Worker for the University of Nebraska Lincoln and Lincoln Public Schools, I managed physical tasks, performed routine equipment troubleshooting, and worked both independently and collaboratively with crews.
Having previously pursued Mechanical Engineering at UNL on a Regent’s Scholarship, I’ve learned that I thrive most in practical, people-oriented environments where I can apply my problem-solving skills directly. My focus is now on paired technical training with active, team-driven employment.
