The Kia Telluride enters 2027 with a new generation—and a larger trim lineup.

Kia currently lists 10 Telluride trims for 2027:

LX, S, EX, X-Line EX, SX, X-Line SX, X-Pro SX, SX Prestige, X-Line SX Prestige and X-Pro SX Prestige.

That’s a lot of choices.

The good news is that the lineup makes more sense when you stop looking at it as 10 unrelated models.

2027 Telluride LX

The LX is the starting point for the new Telluride lineup, but it isn’t stripped down.

Kia lists key features including the new turbocharged engine, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation, eight-passenger seating with a second-row bench and a substantial collection of driver-assistance technologies.

The new 2.5-liter turbocharged engine produces a Kia-rated 274 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. of torque and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Look at the LX if: you want the space and core functionality of the redesigned Telluride without prioritizing luxury upgrades.

2027 Telluride S

The S adds features that many families will notice every day.

Kia lists equipment including 20-inch wheels, a power sunroof, seven-passenger seating with second-row captain’s chairs, a power driver’s seat, heated front seats, roof rails and a Smart Power Liftgate.

Those captain’s chairs are an important distinction. They create a center aisle and can make third-row access easier.

Look at the S if: you want a family-oriented Telluride with captain’s chairs and additional comfort/convenience features.

2027 Telluride EX

The EX takes another step toward comfort.

Among Kia’s listed EX equipment are ventilated and power front seats, full SynTex seat trim, second-row window sunshades, eight-passenger seating and power-folding side mirrors.

The second-row bench is worth noting because not every Telluride shopper wants captain’s chairs. Eight-passenger capacity can matter for larger families and carpools.

Look at the EX if: comfort features are becoming more important but you still want the second-row bench.

2027 Telluride X-Line EX

The X-Line EX changes the character of the Telluride.

X-Line models add distinctive styling and come with all-wheel drive. Kia lists X-Line equipment including 21-inch wheels, high-utility roof rails, blackout exterior treatment and AWD with Terrain Mode.

Terrain Mode provides settings for conditions including Snow, Mud and Sand. Driver-assistance systems and drive modes are aids rather than substitutes for appropriate driving technique and judgment.

For Nebraska buyers, the combination of AWD and a dedicated Snow mode may be particularly interesting when comparing configurations.

Look at the X-Line EX if: you like EX-level comfort but want AWD, X-Line styling and additional all-weather-oriented capability.

2027 Telluride SX

The SX is where the technology level takes a noticeable jump.

Kia lists features including dual sunroofs, driver’s memory seating, Blind-Spot View Monitor, a 360-degree Surround View Monitor, Meridian premium audio and dual 12.3-inch displays.

The additional camera technology can be particularly useful in a three-row SUV when maneuvering through parking lots or tight spaces, but these systems remain driver-assistance features and do not replace attentive driving.

2027 Telluride X-Line SX

Take the technology of the SX and add the X-Line treatment.

The X-Line SX combines SX features with standard AWD, Terrain Mode, X-Line design elements, high-utility roof rails and 21-inch X-Line wheels.

Look at the X-Line SX if: you want the SX’s technology with the appearance and AWD-focused features of X-Line.

2027 Telluride X-Pro SX

The X-Pro SX is where the lineup becomes more capability-focused.

Kia lists features including 9.1 inches of ground clearance, 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, an Off-Road Info Display, Ground View Monitor and an electronic limited-slip differential.

X-Pro also receives unique styling and recovery hooks.

The SX Prestige moves the Telluride toward its premium end.

Kia lists equipment including a digital rearview mirror, heated and ventilated second-row seats, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a 12-inch head-up display and compatible smartphone Digital Key functionality.

Look at the SX Prestige if: comfort and premium technology are your priorities.

2027 Telluride X-Line SX Prestige

This trim combines much of the SX Prestige’s premium equipment with X-Line styling and AWD capability.

That makes it a natural fit for shoppers who like the higher-end interior and technology but also prefer the darker, more rugged X-Line appearance.

Look at the X-Line SX Prestige if: you want premium equipment and X-Line character in the same Telluride.

2027 Telluride X-Pro SX Prestige

At the top of the lineup is the X-Pro SX Prestige.

It combines premium SX Prestige equipment with X-Pro capability, including the X-Pro wheel/tire setup, increased ground clearance, capability-oriented displays and electronic limited-slip differential.

Look at the X-Pro SX Prestige if: you want the most comprehensive combination of premium equipment and X-Pro features available in the 2027 Telluride lineup.

X-Line vs. X-Pro: What’s the Difference?

This may be the most useful distinction for shoppers.

X-Line emphasizes rugged styling, standard AWD and Terrain Mode while retaining larger 21-inch wheels.

X-Pro goes farther toward capability, with 18-inch all-terrain tires, 9.1 inches of ground clearance, additional off-road-oriented information/features and an electronic limited-slip differential on applicable trims.

If you primarily like the rugged appearance and want AWD for Nebraska weather, X-Line deserves a look.
